Please note: Your fishing permit does not include equipment. If you need to hire equipment, it can be done at an extra cost. All anglers must possess a UK rod licence as the park is often inspected by enforcement officers. If you are new to fishing and would like more information, further details can be found on the UK Government website.
It is a lawful requirement that all anglers hold a valid UK rod licence. To enforce this, the authorities may carry out random checks at the parks. Anglers are expected to pay for their fishing, and there are no collective agreements where anglers won’t be expected to pay.Â
All the lakes will have weed present. This is a natural occurrence, although does provide a more challenging session for anglers. However, those anglers with some knowledge will be able to change their fishing styles and bait to suit each lake and session. The weed provides shelter for fish, oxygenates the water, and provides a natural habitat for the fish and other wildlife species that inhabit the lake.
Fishing is to be carried out from dawn till dusk only. This means that night fishing is not permitted. There is only to be one person per peg and maximum of two rods per peg. All fish must be returned to the lake when caught and keepnets are not permitted. Only barbless hooks may be used and all baits must be used in moderation. Nuts and pulses are not allowed.
Tattershall Lakes is not a commercial fishery. Many of our fish will be in excellent condition. Some may never have been caught before. We feel it makes for a better experience to catch quality fish in good condition, but perhaps in smaller quantities. There are many different conditions that affect the fish and whether they are feeding or not. This is out of the parks’ control and we cannot give refunds on day tickets purchased.
