We know that bees are special – why else would they have a whole day dedicated to them.
17 May 2024
We need bees. And it’s our duty to ensure they have the environment in which to thrive. Which is why we have begun creating wildlife gardens at many of our resorts, including Appletree, Retallack and Sandy Balls.
But there are so many other benefits of bees, and more specifically honey, that we think should be shared.
Honey is rich in nutrients and antioxidants, has antibacterial properties, and can play a role in diabetes management as part of a balanced diet. But that’s not all...
Whilst honey is primarily composed of sugar, it provides vitamins and minerals, and is rich in health-promoting plant compounds.
Honey is loaded with antioxidants, and this gives honey the power to help fight off stress and inflammation, as well as premature aging, type 2 diabetes and heart disease.
Honey isn't just for eating – thanks to its moisturizing and antibacterial properties, honey is perfect for everything from hydrating face masks to soothing acne treatments. Be ready to glow this summer.
Honey has been linked to beneficial effects on heart health, including reduced blood pressure, improving blood flow and preventing clot formation.
Honey is great as a natural sugar dose, which provides a quick source of energy, so gives you the energy you need, when you need it.
Have a glass of warm milk and honey before bed and be prepared to sleep like a baby.
Remember how grandma always had a spoonful of honey ready when you had a cough – yup, that’s not an old wives tale, there’s science behind that sweet remedy that proves honey is an effective throat soother.
Whilst you wait... just think about being in your swimmers, the sun's out and the smiles are big
